Nepal is a mountainous country in the central Himalayas, which occupies about one third of ( km) of the entire length of the Himalayan mountain range. Nepal alone claims eight out of the top ten. This is some of the most pristine wilderness to be found in the Himalayas. With its highest point just o feet', Jaljale is the lowest himal in the range. It is a long, spiny mountain, stretching north-south for over 25 miles, with rugged rock formations dotted by clear alpine lakes.

The area is easily accessible, as the southern limit of the ridge is Tsute Deurali (m), barely three kilometres from Basantapur, which is the roadhead extension of the Dharan-Dhankuta highway. In one long swing, the ridge extends all the way up to Milke Bhanjyang (m), which merges further on with the lower flanks of Jaljale Himal. Since the treks in the Manaslu region originate at around meters and reach as high as meters, the trekker will see a wide range of flora typical of the middle hills and alpine regions of Nepal. Plants to be seen around here are pine, rhododendron, wildlife include barking deer, pika and Himalayan marmots.
